Our lead volunteers are called Natural Helpers, and they help immigrants and refugees with transitioning to life in Indianapolis. Natural Helpers are immigrants themselves who understand the challenges of moving to a new place, learning a new language, finding a job and establishing a home in the United States.
Natural Helpers are caring people who community members “naturally” turn to for help. They live and work in immigrant neighborhoods and assist immigrants and refugees with finding community organizations and services. We currently have 89 Natural Helpers from 34 countries who speak 61 different languages.
If you need assistance, we can help connect you with a Natural Helper from your home country or region who speaks your language, click here to fill out the Get Help Form.
